SEO and GEO tools.
Choose by purpose.

Start with the question you want to answer: where do customers find you, which page has a problem, or where does AI mention your business? Then choose a tool that answers it with useful data.

A small starter set for your own website

A consistent process using a few sources is often more useful than multiple subscriptions showing the same number. Start with your own website data. Keep account ownership with your business and give delivery partners the access they need.

When paid AI monitoring becomes useful

Manually reviewing a few answers can be a start. Across multiple markets, recurring reports or larger question sets, scheduling, storage and comparison become more important. Ask for the exact measurement unit: a prompt, a run or one answer on one platform.

Peec AI focuses on AI search analytics. Otterly monitors AI answers and citations. Trackbase positions itself as a platform for measuring and improving AI visibility. Compare their current coverage for your language, region and required platforms; a long model list does not establish that your use case is measured well.

Ask each candidate to demonstrate the same five questions. Request raw answers, dates, source links and an explanation of the score. Check whether prompts need your brand name, how failed runs are counted and whether data can be exported. A polished chart is useful only when you understand the calculation.

Assess a package against five concrete criteria

Write down requirements before watching a demo. A service business in one region has different questions from a shop spanning languages and product categories. Use the points below as acceptance criteria for a trial.

  • Coverage: which AI experience, language, region and search mode are actually tested?
  • Repeatability: can you run and save the same question set at regular intervals?
  • Insight: can you view brand mentions, recommendations and source links separately?
  • Ownership: can you export raw answers, question sets and reports?
  • Costs: what limits apply to runs, team members and additional domains?

Then assess whether your team can turn the results into work. If nobody reads source pages or handles content corrections, a more expensive dashboard will not remove the bottleneck. Reserve time for delivery alongside your measurement budget.

Combine tools without duplicating work

For an online shop: choose a category, review its search queries in Search Console, check the category and buying guide with a crawler, and investigate a slow product page with PageSpeed Insights. Then track whether visitors reach a relevant product page and purchase. Use a separate question set for AI answers.

For a service business: start with the main service page, check its information and enquiry route, and define valuable contact actions. Compare AI answers about preparation and suitability with the website's explanation. Not every visit needs to count as a potential job.

Use one overview with columns for signal, source, relevant URL, action and owner. This keeps the evidence behind decisions visible. Google cautions that external tools cannot access its internal ranking systems; treat composite scores as aids to your work.

Frequently asked questions

Which SEO tool is best?

That depends on the task. For your own search performance, the starting point is often Search Console; for technical URL checks, a crawler. Choose a paid addition when you can identify a specific data problem.

Can a tool prove my overall GEO results?

A tool measures within its own coverage and definitions. Check which platforms, questions and periods are included, and connect visibility with your own business data.
