Clear before contact.

Show what you do, where you help customers and what someone needs to know before enquiring. Connect your business profile to informative pages and measure whether enquiries fit your services.

Start with your actual services and service area

List the services, customer types and areas where you actually work. For an installer, homes, small shops and larger projects can raise different questions. Identify those differences before planning pages for individual towns.

A customer may want to know whether you cover their neighbourhood, which installations you handle and what preparation is needed. Give concrete answers. If you only accept larger projects outside a region, explain that boundary.

If you work entirely online or nationwide, a local strategy is not automatically the main priority. Start with the customer type and expertise people seek. Adding a place name does not make a general page helpful by itself.

Keep your business profile and website consistent

Check your name, contact details, categories, opening hours and services in your Google Business Profile. Compare them with your website. Google identifies relevance, distance and prominence as major local ranking factors. A complete, accurate profile helps describe your business; copy cannot change the distance to the searcher.

Use real photos and ask customers for honest reviews where that fits your contact process. Respond substantively to questions and correct errors. Assign responsibility for updates around holidays, availability and new services.

Check what happens after a click too. Does the profile send someone looking for a specific service to a general homepage? A relevant landing page can bring the explanation and contact step closer together.

Build a service page that defines the work

Explain what you do, who the service suits and how to get started. Describe the information you need to provide a price or schedule. A short list of practical conditions saves visitors from calling with basic questions.

For an EV charger installation, the existing consumer unit, cable route and parking setup may matter. Show which photos or details help with an initial assessment. Do not give a fixed total price if important costs only become clear on site.

Support explanations with your own project information when it is available and you have permission to publish it. Give context: the type of job, starting situation and work carried out. A concrete example helps more than a general claim about excellent service.

Only create a location page with distinct content

A location deserves its own page when the information differs meaningfully and helps customers. Examples include a real branch, a specific delivery approach or verifiable projects in that area. Collect that information before publishing.

If three towns share exactly the same explanation, one clear service-area page may be enough. Add detailed answers to questions that shape enquiries. This reduces duplicate content to maintain and keeps information clear.

Use the content planner to connect your service, answers and choice guides. Review suggested titles against your own language and experience. A planning template cannot replace knowledge of your region or customers.

Plan pages around your services

Assess enquiry quality as well as quantity

Record whether enquiries match your services, region and availability. Many requests from outside your service area may mean your page is unclear. Enquiries lacking essential details can signal a need to explain preparation better.

A short choice guide can direct visitors to the right service or explain when an assessment is needed first. Ask only for details that change the decision. Always let people understand the result and choose their own next step.

Also track a fixed set of local customer questions in AI answers. Record the region and exact wording used. Use observations to investigate incorrect information and missing answers, keeping these measurements separate from actual jobs.

Frequently asked questions

Does every town need its own page?

No. Create a separate page when you have enough relevant, original information about that location. Otherwise, a service-area page with good service information may be clearer.

Does local SEO also help AI visibility?

Clear information about your business and services is also useful for local AI questions. Check results by platform; a good profile does not guarantee a recommendation.
